Designed for photographers of all levels—from beginners to advanced—this workshop focuses primarily on woodland photography. Our core objectives are enhancing forest shooting techniques, mastering post-processing, and experiencing the fulfillment of printing and displaying your work. If you are looking to elevate a simple photograph into a true work of art, join us to experience the entire workflow from shooting to retouching and printing in a single day. This intimate, small-group workshop (limited to 1–3 participants) allows Sho Hoshino to guide you closely through the process of shooting in the forest and finalizing your images. We welcome all skill levels and foster a relaxed, friendly environment tailored to each individual's pace. Let’s come together as a team and ensure you walk away with a completed masterpiece. Please review the following information carefully before booking: ● Shooting Locations Since weather conditions and seasonal peaks vary significantly by location, I will suggest optimal spots and finalize the destination in consultation with you. The location will be confirmed approximately two days prior to the session. *To ensure smooth communication, updates will primarily be shared via Instagram or Twitter DM. FPM members also have the option to arrange expeditions outside the prefecture. If preferred or recommended based on conditions, we will discuss and select the location via DM. ● Workshop Options (Please select when booking) ① Shooting Only — 18,000 JPY Choose this option if you only wish to join the shooting session. Please note that if another participant on the same day books a retouching option, logistics require those on the "Shooting Only" plan to meet and disperse directly at the location. Meeting details will be provided separately. ② Shooting + Retouching — 25,000 JPY Following the shoot, we will head to a local cafe to review and edit your images over breakfast. I will provide step-by-step guidance and answer your questions in detail. *Requires Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. ③ Shooting + Retouching + Printing — 28,000 JPY In addition to the session above, one of your selected images from the day will be professionally printed on A4 matte paper and mailed to your home (shipping costs are included in the fee). We highly recommend framing it to enjoy at home! *Requires Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. ● What is Included Approximately 6–8 hours of instruction (subject to minor changes) Guidance on reading natural light Composition techniques Effective use of filters Transportation from the meetup point to the shooting locations Custom location scouting and selection ● What is Not Included Expenses not listed above Personal injury, property, or equipment insurance Accommodations Transportation costs to the initial meetup point Meals and refreshments (retouching sessions will be held at cafes or similar venues) ● Requirements & What to Bring Outdoor apparel and waterproof hiking boots (rain gear is mandatory regardless of the forecast) Camera, lenses, and a CPL filter Tripod (rentals available upon request) Mobile phone Snacks and at least 500ml of sports drinks (to reduce dehydration risks while moving, please avoid bringing only plain water or caffeinated teas) Laptop computer (for the retouching session; if you do not own one, you may use my device) A change of clothes Fundamental knowledge and skills required to operate your camera *Winter Season Guidelines: Heavy winter gear and water-repellent outerwear are strictly required, as cold conditions present life-threatening risks such as hypothermia.
