This book "Essence" is a record of the "essence of nature" that I, Sho Hoshino, have confronted through the camera over these past years. From the rich natural scenery with seasonal changes captured in Japan, to the exposed wilderness of Utah, USA, and the deep forests engraving history in the UK. I reconstructed the scenery encountered in different lands not from a single perspective, but as the "essence of nature" reflected in my eyes, and pursued an immersive feeling as if the air of that land rises every time you turn a page. It is the culmination of the expressions I have accumulated so far, and it is also the opening of a new stage. Please see the volume that condenses my perspective in your hands by all means. This book has a foreword by landscape photographer Mr. Mark Davis.
